August 8, 2008 -- On July 21, Kyle Fleming, a Clarksville native got the opportunity he had been waiting for his whole life, to test for a NASCAR team. This opportunity of a lifetime was given to him by Chris Lafferty, team owner of Lafferty Motorsports. Lafferty Motorsports is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck team, ARCA Re/Max Series team, and also runs late models and street stocks.
The test session that Kyle had was at the most famous short track in America, Hickory Motor Speedway. This is where a number of the most famous NASCAR drivers have raced at such as Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Ned Jarrett, just to name a few. Kyle, only 19, felt it an honor to not only have a test with a NASCAR team, but to have the opportunity that few have to run at this famed track.
