AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE TAKES GOLD AND SILVER EDDIE AWARDS FOR EDITORIAL EXCELLENCE
October 21, 2008 --
Ann Arbor, Mich. (October 20, 2008) -- AUTOMOBILE Magazine (www.automobilemag.com), America’s leading automotive lifestyle publication and part of SOURCE INTERLINK MEDIA, LLC, a subsidiary of media and marketing services company Source Interlink Companies, inc (NASDAQ: : SORC), announced today that it took Gold and Silver in FOLIO’s 2008 Eddie and Ozzie Awards, winning twice in the same category for Best Single Article in a Consumer Enthusiast/Hobbyist magazine.
Sponsored by FOLIO Magazine, the publication of record for magazine professionals, the Eddie and Ozzie Awards are the largest competition in magazine publishing, recognizing the best editorial (Eddies) and creative work (Ozzies) across all genres. The winners were unveiled in Chicago at the annual FOLIO: Show’s Eddie and Ozzie Awards on September 22.
“To have two articles nominated in such a big category is extraordinary. To take home Gold and Silver in the same category is unreal. Ezra Dyer and Preston Lerner are superb contributors, and they consistently do outstanding work for the magazine,” said Editor-in-Chief Jean Jennings. “They both represent the quality of writing that makes Automobile Magazine the most entertaining car enthusiast magazine on the newsstand.”
Contributing Writer Ezra Dyer won Gold for his article “Does Size Matter,” a review and test-drive of the 2008 Smart ForTwo. Contributing Writer Preston Lerner won Silver for “The Future is Now,” an in-depth profile of the Tesla electric car.
The Eddie and Ozzie Awards recognize excellence in magazine editorial and design, and this year's competition drew more than 2,800 entries. More than 100 expert judges spent weeks evaluating the entries and selecting the winners.
